Spring has finally found us

It's finally warm enough to venture outside and see what's happening. Grace and I went for our maiden voyage run with the jogging stroller--nearly killed me. Those extra four pounds (of Grace's, I'm sure :) make a difference.

My favorite tree in our front yard, our weeping cherry, is in full bloom right now, and this year it is encircled with little yellow violas--I think this is my new favorite. I may be featuring this look in future years :)

Tagged, I'm it

Okay, 4T Trista tagger, here we go:

10 Years ago where was I? I was living in Provo with Kev, pretty newly married, going to the Y. Did I mention we were living in a groovy double-wide trailer with shag carpet and panelled walls? It was Kev's uncle's. Kev and I were both working part-time and going to school. Kourtney was 2.
5 Things on my to do list? Finish my spring cleaning (which I actually started this year). Got the windows done, and I'm working on the walls--shocking I know. Work in my yard. Figure out how to teach piano (in case I decide to teach piano lessons--beginner, of course). Call my yw girls about their missionary packages and singing assignments. Get together with my college roomies next month and get together with my sister in laws for a put-off movie night this month. Finish my library books before I have to renew them again. Oops, six.
Snacks I enjoy. Chocolate chips, Hershey's kisses, M&Ms, chocolate easter bunny--just all things chocolate. Diet soda. Jelly beans. Twizzlers--red, black and chocolate. Apples. Fiber One bars (the Oats and Chocolate are great). Turkey pepperonis. Craisins. Croutons--kinda weird, I know.
What would I do if I became a Billionaire? I'd take care of my family. I'd own an amazing estate somewhere (like a chateau, or a villa or a castle) with gorgeous heavy furniture, paintings, gardens, an adjoining cottage. I'd travel. I'd host charity galas and then go to those places that needed help. I'd do fun little things like pay for people's groceries ahead of me in line and leave thousand dollar tips. I'd never miss a family gathering. I'd invest for my family. That's my idea of billionaire utopia.
5 Things people don't know about me. I hate feet. I have no sense of direction. None. I can blow spit bubbles off my tongue. I can say the alphabet backward. I eat frosting and Cool Whip out of the container.
5 Places I've lived. South Jordan UT, Lehi UT, Provo UT, Iona ID, Shelley ID. Exotic, huh? All wonderful places with great people.

Hey, long lost friend Christina, if you ever find this blog and read it, then I'm tagging you!!

Potty Princess

New Potty Princess

Hey, there's a new princess in town! Ironically, while Kelly is potty training Gizmo, we are potty training Grace. She's doing really well, and today is the first day of princess underwear. Holy cow, I've never heard such excitement over underwear. Screams, claps, jumping. She's been promised a Sleeping Beauty phone when she makes further progress and a potty party when she is truly potty trained. Grace loves her princess undies and keeps modeling new ones for us. She wanted to have her picture taken with her new princess underwear and with her hair done up in "princess knots." So far so good. The little potty treats are a hit and are almost gone. So, keep your fingers crossed for us that we can make a nice smooth transition. :) Maybe the third time's the charm.

Grandpa and Grandma

Family get-togethers and the new babies

Our garden bonfire

Highlights from Grandpa's house

HI, we had a great weekend with family. We got to see my parents report in church about their mission. They oversaw the Idaho Falls temple visitors' center. We also went to the Spanish branch near Rexburg where my niece Jessica and her husband Angel blessed their baby, Adrian. My other cute niece, Melissa (sister of Jessica) had a baby boy too named Elisandro. They were born about two weeks apart, and are they CUTE.
So that makes me the great-aunt of these babies. Weird.
Our first day in Idaho we had a little bonfire in my parents' garden, and of course the girls went crazy with their cousins. Grace ruined her sparkly silver shoes in about fifteen minutes jumping in mud and running in the garden and the ditch. We had to run out and replace them.
These photos are of Grace and McKay looking like a post card in front of the fence with horses behind it. Then we have my two cute new great-nephews (weird), and last but not least my cute dad with a silly trick hat my parents bought in Branson, MO a couple of weeks ago. They had a great time with their friends, and this comedian at one of the shows came out and did a routine with this funny paper accordian "hat." My dad modeled its great versatility while we were there. (See top slide show called "Grandma and Grandpa" for more :) )
